Goats at the Chamorro Valley Ranch must be able to produce meat, mass, and kids as quickly as possible by feeding in our pastures and feed harvested from our fields.
Genetics an Important Factor
We believe that genetics plays an important part in an animal's ability to efficiently convert feed and that certain animals are more efficient at this conversion than others. Over the years we have aggressively culled our herd and keep only selected animals that can produce efficiently, even on lesser quality feeds.
As a result, the growth, muscle and thickness you see on our animals are not artificially enhanced by overfeeding grains or other processed feed. You are seeing the ability of these animals to efficiently convert naturally grown feed. What you see is what you get.
Our herd has access to acres of natural grazing land.
